A two days Arduino workshop was held at Global academy of technology, Bangalore on 26th & 27th August, 2016. This workshop was organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with Tenet Technetronics, Bangalore.
The main objective of this workshop was project based learning using Arduino, real time project sensors to the 5th semester students.
Mr. Umashankar Shetty who is an Alumni of this college and also heads the services & training team of Tenet Technetronics has been conducting workshop for Global Academy of Technology from past 3 years. It’s been a pleasure for Tenet Technetronics that we hearty thanks to Global academy faculty and the management for providing us an opportunity to host this training in their college.
On the first day, the very first session was presented by our technical expert Mr. Umashankar Shetty with introduction to the Arduino. Then the session followed up with the Arduino microcontroller platform. It was a brief introduction about the microcontroller, Arduino platform, and its features as well as hardware and software.
The second session was followed up with Hands-on Arduino interfaces with Universal GPIO board. The participants were very keen in learning each and every interfaces and assignments were given, as the session carried on with basic input/output interfaces like LED, Push-button, and seven segment display.
On the day two, the session continued with hands-on interface with the microcontroller and sensors like Light sensor, potentiometer, Temperature sensor and so on… This session was presented by our Technical expert Mr. Pandidurai. The participants were very good in interfacing and rigging the circuits, as well as writing the programs.
The final session was completely based on aspects on real time project sensors Like IR sensor, PIR sensor, Ultrasonic sensor and Accelerometer. Different task were given to the students while interfacing each and every sensor.
Last but not the least, we got a very positive feedback from the students and also the students were pretty much interested in attending similar events.
