LED:
A light-emitting diode (LED) is a two-lead semiconductor light source. It is a PN- junction diode, which emits light when activated.
Controlling an LED with Arduino:
Controlling an LED using an Arduino is like wherein a suitable voltage is applied to the leads, electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons.
Suppose you need an application wherein you need to control several such LED’s then it becomes a hectic task to wiring it up through the circuit through breadboard as shown below.
8 Strip LED Breakout board:
How about controlling a Strip of 8 LED’s in whichever the manner that you want, isn’t that feels good!!? Certainly it does, yes we are talking about controlling a strip of 8 LED’s. Suppose in an application where you are in need of controlling 8 LED’s, this can be done through a breakout which is being introduced by Tenet Technetronics. This breakout board helps you in reducing wiring connections, Breadboard connections and you can play around with the LED’s.
This breakout board has 8 LED’s connected in a row with a single Ground point which reduces a lot of wires and this breakout helps you in accessing all the LED’s at a time. This breakout comes in an application like Led runner, brightness control and many more.
Interfacing:
This Breakout can be interfaced with any of the micro controller board; it has totally 8 input pins with common ground connection. The below figures shows the application of 8 LED strip breakout in a LED runner application
