In April 2016 from 06-05-2016 to 07-05-2016 we conducted our Raspberry Pi workshop event to General Electric private limited company. The main objective of this workshop was to extensively promote the knowledge of Raspberry Pi to employees in order to extend their knowledge to innovate new thing. Our aim was to give employees the skills and knowledge they need to get creative with computing, no matter what their level of experiences.
The first session we started with introduction about Raspberry Pi, Linux and Python. The second half of the session was devoted to actual use of Pi, we “installed” the OS, went through first boot, introduction to the Universal GPIO board from Tenet Technetronics and then did the simple “hello world” Python program. In the afternoon session we started interfacing with hardware such as LED, LED flash, GUI based hardware controlling, Push button and IR sensor.
On the next day of the workshop we started explaining about the different motors and interfaced with the same. Then we started introduction to the MCP3008 IC which is the SPI based 10 bit ADC. Later the session continued with interfacing MCP3008 with temperature sensor, Acceleration sensor, Potentiometer and LDR from our own breakouts. Later on in the evening demo session was on remotely accessing Raspberry Pi using VNC server, putty, Camera interfacing, Making Raspberry Pi to speak, Face detection, QR code detecting, Home automation and OMX player.
It is great honor to TENET TECHNETRONICS for conducting a workshop on Raspberry Pi in one of the top reputed private limited company.
