In the past couple of months there have been a lot of news around the usage of Android phones/tablets in some form to build smart embedded systems for the future and there have been a lot of tools that we see are increasingly supporting interfacing capabilities for Android.
Currently our embedded systems can communicate using two main protocols to the Android device. First being the much familiar bluetooth protocol and the next being the Android Accessory Development protocol from Google which uses the USB interface on phones/Tablets.
One of the first steps towards making things simpler from our end has been to make configurable apps for users to add android capabilities to embedded systems. With our First App we just opened the doors to have the conventional hello LED example work with the android device. This App makes it easy to connect any embedded system that communicates through a bluetooth interface to communicate.
There are a lot of requests that we would love to address and add more apps and capabilities, please feel free to send us your wishlist and we would strive to see what we could do !
