LEDs are always fun to play with and this post shows another LED project that is built in-house at Tenet. I am sure you would be amazed to see the number of LEDs on board. We had a lot of LEDs that were lying around and this board served as a good source for us to get the new hires get started on the soldering as well as use the LEDs that we had !
Mr Jayakumar our in house electronic hardware expert went onto to build an LED matrix with DIP package LEDs and also built a library to include support for alphabets and numerics . This LED matrix can be readily connected to an Arduino/Comet and could be easily controlled via a serial port or through GPIO (General purpose IOs on the Arduino). He is also planning to get some graphics onto these displays soon !
