This is the time of the year we at Tenet start planning for the development teams and here we are with some of the excerpts of the plans of which most of it would definitely benefit the open hardware community and other hobbyists and also probably our competitors as well to pull up their socks and compete with us and set better standards!
New Products
Following the success of the Comet with sales reaching an average of 2 boards per day its evident that people are starting to believe that high quality development tools can also be produced in India and with well organized support it will be put to use as well !Now with this we have a whopping list of new products that will be produced, assembled in India to take it to the new level !
Technical Support
We are adding more force to the technical support and you should hear back to your queries with less turn around time.we also have plans to incorporate paid technical support plans of various levels coming up soon !
Localized production of Tools and building innovative solutions
With the growing complexity of the electronics market in India with all vendors trying to fight a price war we decided to take a radical step and start producing very high quality hardwares locally to ensure that all tools that are most often needed are produced locally and are available through out the year ! We have a list of around 25 products that would be released in the second quarter of this year and we are working day and night to get them through the production deadline.
We also are negotiating with local hacker spaces as well peer companies to join the movement to help us increase the product line and we are almost on track with these efforts !
Workshops, Tutorials and Training !
Following the amazing response we received for the workshops that we organized in Engineering schools there will be a dedicated training and workshop team taking care of these kind of activities from June to make sure all your training requirements are met !
We are excited to announce that there are around 15 different topics for classes that we have planned to deliver over the next 1 year !
Also planned is “One Video a Week ” Program where in developers at Tenet deliver views as well as share their experiences on using DIY hardware/software as well as share tips and tricks that they follow in their day to day work.
Research and Development on DIY electronics and System Design
In the view of addressing the need for active research we have planned to fund in for active research and development activities in DIY electronics and system design in Universities. We planned to setup at least 2 labs this year and all efforts are ongoing to make sure that students at universities/colleges will now have complete access to a dedicated open source lab and bring out the geek in them !
Internships
We have always believed that young minds have a radical thought process and also there is a huge learning in interacting with them !This year around we planned to open up internship positions for students who just have finished(Not a criterion though) to join Tenet at various responsibilities like Technical Writing, Application Engineering, Software development, Web Technologies , business management..etc
