Yet another day of learning and fun seeing students play with electronics ! We were amazed to see the involvement of students at JSS during the entire Workshop program ! Most of the students were interested so much that when asked to leave for a break or even lunch it was difficult for the organizers at the college to even manage to get them to the canteen ! Now that is what excited us ! Never ever it happened to us when we studied and truly practical exposure to students and also letting them believe that they could build smart embedded systems clearly lets them to be more involved .
The first day went on well with introductory sessions on open hardware, arduino and general info on where to start off and how to find resources ! At the closing session of day 1 students had already learnt to interface some basic peripherals like the leds, switches ..etc.
It was amazing to see the students slowly getting out of there comfort zone and rying out various things on there own ! The moment they saw the LED blink there was a sense of interest that began to grow and students starting to show off each other with various patterns and combinations in making them blink ! !
It got them so involved that at the end of the day 1 the session went on for an extra hour to get the students to wrap up there work !
Second day was even more amazing with Tenetians showing off various peripheral interfaces for the Arduino and pretty much at the end of all students could think of some applications of all these peripherals to solve some small real problems in life taht they noticed ! That was the whole goal and the purpose was solved !
