ARUDINO WORKSHOP ON APRIL 24 th and 25th 2010
Get introduced yourselves with the Arduino (an Open source revolution).
Workshops scheduled for April 24th and 25th at Bangalore.
Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It’s intended for artists, designers, hobbyists, and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments.
Arduino can sense the environment by receiving input from a variety of sensors and can affect its surroundings by controlling lights, motors, and other actuators. The microcontroller on the board is programmed using the Arduino programming language(based on Wiring) and the Arduino development environment (based on Processing). Arduino projects can be stand-alone or they can communicate with software on running on a computer (e.g. Flash, Processing, MaxMSP).
The boards can be built by hand or purchasedpreassembled; the software can be downloaded for free. The hardware reference designs (CAD files) areavailable under an open-source license, you are free toadapt them to your needs.
Tenet Technetronics has been conducting various workshops to harness the capabilities of Arduino and enabling hobbyists, students and Corporates to quickly get started with the tool. The workshop is conveniently conducted on the weekends there by creating a chance to get a varied crowd starting from a nowise programmer to experienced software/Hardware design engineers.
The workshop is evenly balanced to introduce the attendees to both the hardware as well as software aspects to start designing a complete embedded system based on Arduino.
All attendees are provided with a take home Arduino USB !!
The workshop walks the attendee through most of the commonly found interfaces that could be interfaced to the Arduino. We start with the basic Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) and then go on to interface
- RGB LEDs
- Switches
- Motors
- Wireless modules
- LCD (Both character LCDs and Graphical LCDs)
- BlackBerry Track Ball
- Accelerometers
- GPS/GSM Modems……. etc
Second day of the workshop is typically spent on tinkering as well as researching what the attendees intend to build using the Arduino and possibly guide them through (most of the times to completion ) their ideas.
Workshops of these kind help us understand the pain points of embedded design engineers and possibly help the community build more innovative designs based on this wonderful development hardware. A video below illustrates what an user built at the end of the workshop. The attendee was interested in building a snake game that he noticed in his mobile and asked us if he could be able to do it. Our developers found it interesting and designed a simple hardware and a software interface to build a small gaming console, A video of the prototype without the gaming decisions had been recorded and we are pretty sure that the user can get it completion using the knowledge gained from our developers.
The workshop is priced very low so as to make it affordable and also get a hardware to start exploring Arduino based designs and build innovative designs at the end of the day.
The workshop is priced at
- 2000 INR for Students
